Brian Kuo: Week 5 Glasses



When I picked Ryan's drawing out of the box, I thought the angular forms he used were very interesting. I decided that they would be used as a pair of cheap fun glasses, perhaps as a temporary replacement or fun reading glasses. This drove many of my decisions in designing these glasses. 
I used a lot of curve extrusions for the frame and arms of the glasses. I also used the patch tool and edited the command points for the lenses. For the arms, I used the rhino tutorial on free form objects, but flipped it so the lens part in the tutorial became the back part of my glasses. 
For materials, because I wanted it to look fun, I chose a colorful, clear blue plastic. I contrasted this with the black of the frame. The lenses are just a clear glass,
