Meghan Preiss : Week 1 : Castle

My castle was inspired not by a castle that everyone is used to but a castle that I have always wanted to live in. I combined the idea of the drawstring bridge and the typical high surrounding wall that acts as a protector. Although I made my surrounding wall smaller and my middle bridge taller. I did this because I imagine myself being outside and wanted to see out and not be constricted by this tall wall. After looking at past castle projects, I found myself more attracted to the simpler models. I really enjoy simplified architecture, I believe this shows in my simplified castle model.

The modeling techniques I used were curveboolean, ExtrudeCRV, Arraylinear, Mirror,Copy, BooleanUnion and many more. I created doors/walkways though each building and an additional walkway connecting both buildings.

I used the materials old wood, glass, and marble. I originally just wanted to use wood and glass because I love the idea of a log cabin with large windows that look out into nature. I made a mistake of putting marble on the round pillars and then found myself rethinking my material choices.
