Jessica Demasis: Week 10 Dragon Kite

For our Kite I really wanted to create a dragon! Once Ryan joined me on this endeavor we started sketching thumbnails to come up with how our dragon would look, and how he would be made into a kite. Finally we gathered all the materials necessary and our dragon was born. Unfortunately we soon found out that he was a wild one. He took to the sky ripping straight off of his string and then dived into the ocean just out of our reach. We found out that the multiple layers of packing tape over the thin plastic sheeting we had for the center flap was not strong enough to handle the violent wind that our kites faced that day. When those wings took to the wind there was just no going back. Despite all it was a great experience and I'm glad I got to fly a dragon for however brief amount of time I had. The design itself turned out grate and had the winds been less violent I believe he would have flown beautifully. I learned a lot during this experience and I hope to try again sometime, perhaps on a less windy day.
