Michael Huh: Week 9 Egg Lamp

For this project I wanted to create something that was simple, but at the same time interesting. I decided to base my waffle lamp from an egg because earlier that day I had eaten an boiled egg and was inspired to base my lamp from it.
I first created my lamp with basic shapes. I then copied the outer layer shape and pasted a smaller version within the lamp (interior). I then created a cylinder above the interior shape, so there would be an opening from the top. I sectioned both horizontal cuts and the vertical cuts. After sectioning them I then used planar srf to create a flat layer instead of just lines. After doing this I then created pipings to create the cuts for the lamp. Lastly, I used rhinoscript to create the flat layers for the lamp to be laser cutted.
For the materials I used old wood to create the texture for the surface of the lamp. I then used the lighting to help create light for the light bulb. For the unlit lamp I used glass to resemble an actual light bulb. After doing all this I used photoshop to add the title, name, and the orto.
