For my lamp I wanted to make some type of night light that would look like it was a part of my bedside table, which is essentially a glass I-Beam. I wanted to make it look like it was a droplet of water falling into the surface and have it illuminated from underneath without a traditional bulb. I thought with the acrylic to match the clear glass the flat surface for illumination would blend in nicely with my design. I first designed a series of curves and revolved them, next I used Boolean union to make the inner cavity empty for my (unnecessary) light fixture.
Overall I believe the biggest problem with my design was that in the final product I choose too thin of an acrylic and it snapped very easily during construction leasing to my craftsmanship looking sub-par. I plan on having it re cut in a thicker acrylic and using the proper glues to really make it a piece I can be proud of.
For my renders I made the plastic of and made an off blue area light.
