For my ring I was inspired by pieces from the jewelery company Macabre Gadgets. I tried to recreate one of the rings from the company but use flowers as part of the composition because I enjoy the contrast between a living flower and skull.

To make my ring I used two circle curves, extruded them. I then took a sphere and used control points and boolean differences from cylinders to modify it. Finally I used the control points and the rotate tool to replicate the skull. I also used some boolean differences with ovals to make the eyes and nose. I got the rose off of the website Thingiverse and used the scale tool to attach it to the surface.

I used a matte painted surface for the skull but wanted it to be shiny so I rendered a gilded pass and layered it in Photoshop. I made this layer quite transparent. I wanted the rose to be red and somewhat transparent so I used a glassy material for that.
