Shannon Donnelly Week 7: Lamp

For my lamp I wanted to create something simple that could be easily disassembled and reassembled. I wanted to create an inexpensive design that could be sold in many markets. I wanted the lamp to be open to save on material and keep it lightweight. I chose to use minimal cross pieces to allow as much light to pass through.

I used the curve tool to create the main shape of my vertical pieces and used the revolve tool to create a shape. Then I used the section and contour tools to make the cross pieces.

I wanted to keep my materials the same throughout the lamp, so I used mahogany for the structure. I wanted to use a darker wood so the light would have a higher contrast.
