Desmond Martinez: Week 10: Action Hero Kite

Today we went out to Tybee Beach to fly our self made kites. My kite flew for much longer than the requirment and was fun to watch. My inspiration for my kite came from Marvel comics superheros with the idea that it would fly like Superman. The form it self was your standard Delta kite model that I brought to life off the internet.

My materials included two plastic table cloths (Superhero style), 500ft of nylon string, 2 .25" wooden dowls (.25"x48"), one .25"x48" PVC pipe, and duct tape. The materials I chose were of great quality and perfect for the assignment. We had trouble with tangling of the string at first but once I solved that and added a tail the kite was off and flying beautifully.

Finally, I would like to say a thank you to Prof. Scott for teaching me more than I thought possible in Rhino and for giving me the opportunity to develop my form and have fun doing. Best of wishes and ENJOY DALLAS! GO COWBOYS!
