Meghan Preiss NRG Ring

     My ring was inspired my dance studio; Steps In Time. I have never wanted a high school ring but I have always wanted one for my dance studio. The NRG is our competition team's motto. It started about 10 years ago. It stands for energy and always having energy no matter what. The four circle holes represent the four groups that compete and also the four instructors.
 
    I created my ring by creating solids and boolean unioning them.I used the boolean different to create the offset on the top. Then adding the letters NRG in the inset. I boolean differenced the words Steps in Time and the eight circles. I used the occulsion, diffuse, secular, and reflection passes to make my ring look better.

    I chose 24k gold because I love gold rings. I then chose a purple metalic paint for the letters NRG to make them stand out more. I chose purple because it is our team colors. In addition, purple and gold are the colors of royalty.
