For my design I was inspired by the Geometric period of art in Ancient Greece. I chose to modify a common pattern from the time for my ring. I chose this pattern because it is not too simple and also not too complicated and I thought it would fit well on a ring.
To model the ring I started with two cylinders that I boolean differenced and then filleted. I then used the CreateUVCrv command and made a surface out of those curves. To get the pattern onto the surface, I used the picture frame command and uploaded a picture of the pattern that I then drew curves over it. I took those curves and extruded them and then I dragged them onto the surface I created. I then used FlowAlongSrf to the the pattern onto my ring.
In keyshot I used the materials 24kt gold and textured blue glass. I chose these materials because I thought they worked well the Greek image I was going for. In my first rendering I used an occlusion pass, a "beauty" pass, a specular pass, and a reflection pass. In my second rendering I used an occlusion pass, a "beauty" pass, a specular pass, a reflection pass, and a toon pass.
