Elee Holtermann Week 7 Tri Ring

The ring I designed is called the Tri Ring because of its 3 points. For this project I wanted to design a different style of ring that creates an illusion when wearing it. From the top it looks like the two pieces arent connected. The double finger ring is an interest of mine but the Tri Ring is different since it only sits on the top of the second finger rather than wrapping around it.
When making this ring the main tool I used was the sweep 2 tool in order to get the correct shapes. I also used the curve to view tool to get some of the more complex curves. The shape was difficult because I had something very specific in mind so inorder to make it I had to spend a lot of time getting the curves just right. The material I used is polished silver which went well with the style of this ring.
My concept for the Tri Ring was streamline and angular. I wanted this ring to look really dynamic like it was moving off of your fingers. The chamfered edges compliment the hard edges so that it looks sharp yet isn't painful to wear.
