Shannon Donnelly: Week 6 Ring

I was inspired by basic band rings. I wanted my ring to be simple and wearable everyday. I didn't want anything too big that would cause a statement piece, but instead a daintier  styled ring.

I used a curve to start my ring, and piped it to make the basic form. Then I created a spiral around the pipe that I piped. I used the booleandifferance tool to carve out the spiral. Then I created a tube for the inside of the ring and trimmed the inside. I used boolean union to combine all the pieces. I finished by adding the round details to the sides by using polar array on spheres that i boolean differanced from the surface.

I took two different approaches in my renderings. In Keyshot I chose to make very modern rings with chrome and blue accents using colored metal and glass. For my rendering in Photoshop I wanted the ring to be more sophisticated, so I used copper and a colored metal.
