For my ring I was inspired by the zodiac signs. I'm a big believer in zodiac signs and people's horoscopes. I wanted to create a ring that I would wear, which is why I put all 12 signs on the ring.
I started by taking a circle with my ring size, then offseting another to create the thickness of the ring. Next extruding both circles up and using the Sweep2 command to patch the two extrusions together. To create the signs I started by using a reference image on a separate screen, but soon realized it was much easier to drag, drop, and trace each image because of the complexity in some signs. After tracing the signs I scaled them down and extruded them. Next I used ArrayPolar to rotate each sign around the circle to make sure they were evenly spaced and hugged the curve properly. Lastly, I used BooleanDifference to cut each sign into the ring.
For materials I used an Aluminum Polish in silver and in gold. I chose this material because of way the reflections showed up on the ring caused by the other ring.
