For my lamp I wanted to create something organic and elegant. The inspiration for my lamp was a jelly fish. At first, the biggest circle was at the bottom, but i turned the design around, because it made it a lot more dynamic and it made it easier as a product. The large opening at the top makes it very easy to change the lightbulb.

The way I made this lamp, was through first creating a bell shape, then i flipped it up side down, and used the section tool and the contour tool to make planes out of my original shape. Then I used the rhino scripts to cut out the notches and to unroll the shapes on to a sheet. All of my notches were on the wrong side of my pieces, so I had to go back and use the mirror, trim and extend tool to fix all of the imperfections.

For the material of the lamp i decided to go with wood, because with wood, you can have a fun texture and you can stain it any color that you want. For the render, I went with two different color woods to create some contrast between the pieces and to make the lamp look a lot more elegant.
