For my camera design I drew a lot of influence from the Leica T camera. These cameras are very complex and have the ability to produce photos as good as the Canon 5D. But the cameras themselves are very simplistic on the outside and have a touch screen interface on the back rather than a clutter of buttons.
For the model itself I started with an extruded rectangle. I rounded off the edges and cut out a curve to give it a form that would work well for all hands. I then added the lenses using multiple cylinders. I polar arrayed a cylinder onto the back cylinder to get the ridges. For the back I drew the cut out that I wanted and then offset that curve and blendsurfaced them back together. I then filleted all of the edges so the surfaces were smooth.
For the materials I chose to have aluminum. This is unlike most cameras because it is lighter and more durable. It is also accented with hard black plastic.
