Elee Holtermann: Week 3 Mouse

My mouse design is named Blurr Mouse because of it's shape and glow. I wanted this mouse to have a really dynamic shape but yet feel comfortable in the hand for long periods of time. I ended up with this shape which I liked it a lot because it doesn't look anything like a product on the market today. The Blurr mouse is targeted towards video gamers and designers because I want this to be an exceptional product with tons of different functions to help you be more efficient in your work.
When modeling the Blurr mouse I used the network surface tool to get a nice surface shape for the top part of the mouse. To make the track ball I made a basic sphere and then used boolean union to create a cradle. The buttons are actually slightly lowered which I did by splitting the shapes I wanted from the mouse and then lowering the surface and blending them back to the mouse.
For appearances I liked the look of aluminum for a high end mouse so I used the for the upper section. for the bottom I thought it would be cool to do transparent plastic and add a blue light source in the center so that the mouse would light up from the bottom making it glow. I did something similar with the track ball and the cord as a nice accent.
