For my duck I chose a wood dark base for color and texture. I was aiming for an futuristic colorful duck, something you would see in modern 3D cartoons. I specifically chose for my duck to have no eyesight, futuristic ducks have no eyes!
For modeling techniques I use the basic solid tools. The solids include sphere, square and cylinders. I also used the line tool to create my spoons.
My lightening in keys hot in the basic setting. I did not want to shed too much light onto the ducks surface. The duck is very colorful, so I figured too much light would over power the ducks surface.
