Yi Wang: Week 3 Hammer Design

       This is my third week project, a hammer design. In this design I try to make my product more functional than just a hammer. I thought about how can a hammer do more. How can a hammer also do things like a saw or knife or a screw driver. So I used the idea from Schweizer Messer. I try to put more tools inside a hammer, let it be something more than just a hammer. I put a saw, a knife and a screw driver inside the top part of the hammer's body, so people can pull them out easily just like using a Schweizer Messer. And I also add a small case on the bottom, so we can put other sizes head of screw driver in there.

       I used all the technique we learned from the class. I used a lot of "extrudecrv", "cap" and "split" in this model. I spent a lot of time to create the handle, because it's very difficult to make perfect curve, and it has to fit the shape of our fingers.

       I used  metal for the head of hammer and the more tools, and I used several different kind of woods for the body. My favorite part is the wooden body, because it looks nice and it has great feeling when we holding it.
