I chose to create a toy hammer that is geared towards young children. I designed this hammer to where it has the capability of holding 3 bouncy balls that fit nicely inside of the shaft. This hammer is designed to be extremely light weight to ensure no accidents. The tip of the head is squishy for the baby teethers out there to chew on! This product would have various colors and styles to chose from.
In Rhino, I constructed simple shapes and used the Boolean commands. For the shaft, I drew a curve then trimmed it which then I placed the bouncy balls inside. I had some difficulty connecting my naked edges. I wanted to model this product for Toys R Us and tried to put the logo of the head of the hammer but had some difficulty connecting the lettering on the object.
In Keyshot, I used the plastic effects: clear shiny magenta, yellow, lime green, teal blue, and clear; as well as hard rough yellow and pink. I had a lot of fun making this product. It's designed to be entertaining and durable for children.
