GIANNI YARTO: WEEK 3 HAMMER

I wanted to design a hammer that was sleek yet tough. Something simple that would be found in an everyday household. I drew inspiration for world renown companies like craftsman and black & decker just because their tools are timeless and simple.

For the head of the hammer I used the revolve command to revolve a curve that I drew, and also used BoleanDifference to get a shape that wasn't boxy or bulky. For the neck I used sweep2 to make a neck then filleted the edges. For the handle I drew out a curve then used the Sweep2 command to make it a solid, then used BoleanDifference to cut out some piped shapes from it.

For my material choices I wanted something that looked solid and durable so I instantly thought to go with metals. The head is made of aluminum with it reflective properties turned down. The handle is made of a rough copper. The reason I didn't want to use super reflective materials is because it would look really beat up after its first use.
