This is a model of a toy hammer. When creating this design, because I'm a hands on person, I was naturally inspired by my favorite hammers, "Estwing Hammers". Due to the criteria I decided to stylize the hammer into a product that would be in the use of a child. For this reason is why you will notice a plastic handle; however, I did decide to keep the head of the hammer a normal metal material.
While using Rhino to complete this model I found myself getting more familiar with the "Sweep2" command as well as the "Filleting" command. These were both crucial in the completion of this model. The reason being that I was able to create shapes from just three curves then proceed to fillet the edges created to give a nice smooth look.
After completing the model in Rhino I brought it into Keyshot, the materials I used determine the functionality of this tool. By making the handle a clear plastic material I am suggesting that this hammer is a toy. On the other hand, making the head a stainless steel and including the nail illustrations suggests that the hammer still has a functional quality.
