This is my hammer design for filleting week. I tried to make a more interesting shape with the metal head part as opposed to the handle. There were a couple challenges I came across while trying to offset the hammer profile for details, but I figured it out.
I used the offset command to make the bands and protrusions that are detailed on the side of the hammer. I punched holes here and there for the neck part and claw. Most edges were filleted for a smooth appearance.
The hammer head and neck was made from a shiny steel. The steel has to be strong enough to support your typical hammer's work day, as the neck of the hammer is thin. The handle was coated in some glossy brown paint and features a matte white grip.
