Michael D. Huh Winter2014 Elds205 Mouse
For my mouse design I have chosen to model the mouse as shown in class.
I themed my mouse that would resemble as a submarine, but nothing too literal. I designed a "engine" that is placed on the back of the mouse that helps supports the back palm of the hand. The buttons were formed to the pressure points of the two fingers used for clicking. I also added two scroll wheels for different purposes for the users personal choice that could be programmed with a computer. Lastly, I created spheres that mimics bubbles under water.
I first started with the basic lines that were already given. I created the basic shell of the mouse by using curvature, trim, offset, and loft. After creating the base form, I moved on with the buttons and scroll wheels. I used control point curve and created two shapes and extruded them so I could create a concave shape. I then pasted a copy of the button and used fillet to create smooth edges. I created the engine by using basic shapes and playing around with them to form its final look. Finally I created the wire that is attached at the end and created different sized spheres to resemble bubbles.
I uploaded the mouse to keyshot and changed the colors to a dark woody pallet. I used cloth for the buttons and used axalta/glass for the outer shell and for the small details.
