Grant Hoskins Winter 2014 ELDS205 Mouse
This is the mouse that I created in Rhino. My inspiration for the piece is from various different pictures on the internet. I incorporated several different styles into a mouse that pleases my eye. The inspiration for the shape of my mouse was the advanced tutorial provided on Blackboard. I am happy with how it turned out.
I started off by following the advanced tutorial on line. After I had gotten the rough shape, I started focusing on the details. I added a scroll wheel using the boolean difference command. The grips on the back of the mouse are simply a pipe. The buttons are made from rectangular solids set into the body of the mouse.
I used mostly plastics as materials in Keyshot. The top of the mouse is just a hard shiny black plastic. The grips and the filleted edged are made of a white plastic. The buttons are composed of a material called Mold-Tech. Lastly, the wheel is made of a sapphire material. I think the clear blue of the sapphire adds the overall aesthetics of this mouse.
Excellent work!!
