I used 2 rail sweep and Boolean subtraction to achieve most of the shapes in the model. I tried to mimic the skull structure of the duck as much as possible to make the head shape. I had the most problems with aligning the feathers with the wings and the body of the duck.
I put multiple duck models in the rendering to simulate the conditions that the physical model would be place in. I designed the wing feathers to be removable to be able to be changed to match different species of duck. I gave the rendered ducks blue eyes to make the shape of the eyelid emphasized.
I tried to simulate the color of the of pond water for the ground the ducks were supposed to be placed on. I changed the materials properties to increase the reflectiveness. I had a problem adding a believable ripple pattern to the water surface.
