For my mouse design I was inspired by a group project during my Intro to Industrial Design class. For the project we had to model mice out of foam. Through research I found that the mouse is a slowly dying piece of technology. People are more interested in touch screen and advanced technologies.
With this information I designed the Minimause, A simple minimalist mouse with everything a user could ask for. The contour mimics the natural hand motion while operating a mouse to provide the most comfort possible. I offset the curves before I swept the surface creating a slightly tilted surface. The reason being that the hand naturally tilts while using a traditional mouse because it is more comfortable for the user that way. The tilted surface predicts that motion and provides support and comfort for the users hand. The MiniMause features two traditional buttons as well as a lowered touch pad at the bottom to alternate between the two functions. The touch pad could also be an avenue for other sensitive devices like a cintiq pen providing the user with the utmost control.
For materials I went with aluminum because it caters to the sleek profile of the mouse and looks very modern.
