Michael D. Huh Winter2014 Elds205 Hammer
I used the the basic template that was given to help construct the basic form of the hammer. I knew from the beginning that I wanted to create a realistic hammer then a toy hammer. So for the construction I went towards using more usable details rather than making details for aesthetics.
I used sweep2, blndsrf, and booleandiff to help create the basic structure. I also used pipes for the gripper part of the handle. Using booleandiff, I made cutouts on the left side and two holes on the top part of the handle and as well as the bottom for hanging on the wall. I used control point curve to create the the lines for the gripper and as well as the hook.
Using keyshot I used colors that reflected more towards metallic over axalta. Using the colors that were offered in metal, I used about four colors to keep the colors contained and too much that would distract the eyes.
