Samantha Whitmore Winter 2014 ELDS 205 Mouse
Getting an inspiration for the design of my mouse took some time. I knew for sure that I wanted something that would be simple in shape and how the form looked. I kept the basic, average shape of a general mouse for this. After looking at many images I decided that mine would have more of an appeal for women, with a classy look while still keeping it simple.
To create the mouse I used the user guide from blackboard. Afterwards I wanted to add in buttons to be able to click items on the computer screen. I chose this rather than to click the side as a whole because I wanted a different look. I also added in a wheel using the cylinder tool and meshing through boolean union. I used the curve and pipe command to create the line between the buttons.
The sides of the mouse are made of glass, creating a see through surface to be able to see the insides of the mouse. In the center the ball is made from a crystal to add some shine into the look. On the tops of the sides I used a mesh material for easy grip when holding and moving the mouse. Also the top is made of a felt material making it to look soft and not give off a hard feel.
