Storm Sampson Week 2: Flashlight

My flashlight design was intended to be small and simple but I ended up making it a pretty decent size. Going with a more simple design seemed to be a better choice since I really didn't have too much inspiration while creating the light. A children's toy was a main idea behind the whole concept.
When starting the light I played with the curves a little bit before revolving it. I started off by cutting several triangle pieces using the curveboolean command. I didn't really like how bulky it was looking so I deiced to make a nice smooth curved design. After revolving the curves, I made several diamond shapes using array polar to indent all over the light to contrast the curved exterior. Around the brim, I used the diamond shapes but instead booleanunioned them to look sharp. As you can see in my ghosted form some edges aren't joined and I couldn't seem to find a way to join them.
While in keyshot, I had the idea of a children's toy with accents that glow in the dark incase the light were missing in a time of need. The lime green pieces indicated parts that glow in the dark. The diamonds around the brim will catch the most light therefor they will glow the most when the light is turned off. I used a nice black shiny plastic to contrast the lime green which also gives it a spacey childish look.
