When starting the duck project, turning it into a product was the biggest challenge. Initially, I thought of the old school tunnel of love where swans gently guide you through with your lover. So, I tried to re-create something sort of like that. Rather than a jet ski, it's a jet-swan.
I started off creating two spheres one rather large and one small. After using the rebuild command, I had access to several more points to adjust all my curves. I dipped the body in a downwards curve to create a sitting area. While creating the water jets, I disguised them as wings by creating curves and extruding them to look similar to feathers. I modeled the beak and face to resemble a swan more by pulling the beak further out and pulling in the face a bit.
While in keyshot, I used a pretty simple material and color arrangement. The white metal paint gives a clean swan like feeling. The leather seat ads comfort and relaxation if the jet were to be in a lazy river setting. I didn't want the beak to be ridiculously orange, so I went with the gem material that had just enough reflection to resemble a real swan.
