Brett LaCour Week 4 Detergent Bottle
I derived my inspiration for my detergent bottle from a current cleaner product line Green Works. I imagined the detergent being a naturally derivative substance so I tried to emulate that with the organic shape of the modeling.
In order to create the body of offset two elipse then used the command sweep 2. Then I drew the contour curves for the handle split the swept surface, scaled it down, adjusted it away from the body, connected the two surfaces with curves the completed the sweep 2 command again. I joined the surfaces together then filleted the edges. After that I was pretty satisfied with the simple ergonomic shape. So I continued on to the threaded cap which took a few tries but eventually I figured it out.
My Material Choices are all hard shiny plastic because it looks sleek and catches the eye. I attempted to depict the detergent in one of my renderings using a translucent blue material in key shot. I added the extrusion to my key shot file before rendering. The material choice resembles a reflective detergent-esque liquid so I kept it.
Overall I enjoyed this modeling because it felt somewhat organic with how you can create different surfaces.
