Sarah Zambrana: Week 10 Shoe



 
  For this project, I wanted to recreate a pair of Vans that I already own so  could see how realistic I could get them to be. The tools I used most were Offset, Blend Surface, patch, and also the interpolate curves on a surface command. What I really appreciated was the fact that I had to create the form of the shoe last before actually making the shoe. It really helped with finding the right shape and curves for the different areas of the shoe.
I tried my best to find a material that best imitated the thick padded cloth that are used on the actual vans. And also, the sole of the shoe is made from white rubber, while the shoe lace openings are made from titanium. I chose to stick with a gray scale for the colors because it can go with any color clothes that someone is wearing.

Nick Tourville- Week 10 Camera



    The idea for this design came from doodling cameras on Rhino. I accidentally made an almost comically large lens for one camera, and I liked how it looked like a giant robotic eye. Around the idea of this eye, I modeled Snap,  a spider-like portable camera. Snap is controlled wirelessly controlled  via an iPhone or Android app and can be used to take photographs. Prewritten paths can also be programmed into Snap, and it has a touch screen underneath to change settings and view photos. Snap easily connects to computers via a USB outlet in its back.
    I started modeling Snap from the eye, using cylinders for the lens housing and an extruded and bent circle for the lens. The main body is a manipulated sphere, and the legs and piped and bent curves. The neck between the lens and body is two blended curves, the combination of which made for a more interesting transition between the two parts. The USB drive was added by copying in my USB from a previous project and using Boolean Difference.
   The main body of Snap is a hard plastic casing. The legs coverings are made of nylon and the lens and flash are glass. The two spheres on Snap's back that house indicator lights (one for power and another for charging) are also made of glass, and the lights themselves are colored emissive materials.

Andrea Carriquiry: Week 10 Shoe





For the design of this shoe i wanted to make something i would love to buy for myself i wanted to create a very elegant and classy shoe that could be dressed up or dressed down. I was inspired mainly by three things. The first one, was myself and the way i love bows because they make everything elegant and girly. The second was the obvious red sole which was inspired by Christian Louboutin’s shoes which also have a red sole, and the third one was Blair Waldorf, one of the main characters in the tv show Gossip Girl and how her style is very classy and elegant, i also decided to use her last name as the name for this design because of its sophistication.

To create the model in rhino y created the curves using control points and rebuilding them, as well as using the sweep2 command to make the leather parts and fixed the trouble spots using BlendSrf. For the details i used pipes. For the bow i used two triangles and a square which i filleted  to look more rounded. For the logo on the back i projected and extruded the rectangle on the back of the shoe and used Boolean Difference for the letters.

The materials i chose were a light nude leather for the shoe, a gold metal for the pipes, the bow and the logo, so these would stand out but also they would look really good with the nude leather. I decided to go with a red material on the sole and insole to make the shoe more fun and to give it a pop of color.

Karla Ronaszegi: Shoe Week 10

 Amber LaQuox is dedicated to my best friend. A shout out to my professor who also helped me with the idea. It's a black leather boot with white leather trimmings going around it and going down the heel. The heel is all black hard plastic. In order to accomplish this shape I used lots of sweep2. I created the contour with lines. I started with the base of the shoe and worked my way up. I used piping to make my bottom fillets and to make the white lines.  In my process I checked for naked edges every step to make sure I was making a clean design. These are techno shoes, imagine a black lighted room with these on.
