I would like to design a chair that emphasizes on its fluidity, and at the same time airy and balanced. The focal point of the design is the shape of the frame when it is viewed on profile; the elegance of which makes the name "Sicily." The choice of materials is based on consideration of simplicity and sleekness -- black or cream leather with steel frame. The chair would go well with any living room and study settings.

Lucy Meadows: Week 2 Duck
I enjoyed playing around with organic shapes in the duck assignment. I decided to transform my duck into a wine stopper, which combined geometric and organic forms. My late father was a glass artist, and my project was inspired by some of his work.

Lucy Meadows: Week 2 Flashlight
Flashlight 1
After completing the duck Rhino tutorial, I was inspired to do additional modeling of organic shapes and began sketching ideas that could apply to the flashlight assignment. I played around with the idea that a flashlight is ultimately a handle and a light source and came up with an antler shape for the handle. After experimenting with that concept, my flashlight turned into more of a headlamp; that inspired the light source to be modeled after a headlight of an old automobile. My project evolved into a different way of looking at the phrase: deer in the headlight.

Zoe Leung: Week 2 Duck Paperweight
My design is focused on modelling the form and shape of the duck, and giving him costume of a classical gentleman. The product is designed as a paperweight with its smooth form and decorative characteristics. Ambiance lighting, as opposed to harsh one, is used to showcase the decorative details.

Zoe Leung: Week 1 Castle
My castle design is inspired by the historical Iranian adobe structure; it features Islamic crenellation and arch detailing, with an emphasis on solid mass. This is an updated posting with refined compositions.

Lucy Meadows: Week 1 Castle
My castle was inspired by a small castle I played with as a child. This project gave me an opportunity to explore the basics of Rhino.
