Lydia Batchelder: Week2 Ducky

The duck, what a whirlwind of a model, while creating this one I had a lot of fun. Lofting and blending surfaces became my best friends and hidden curves (tucked away in the duck's body) my worst enemies. I wanted to concentrate on a client this time when creating the Duck Toilet Paper and Fragrance Holder.

"Keep it classy," was my mantra during the entire design process especially when choosing the streamlining and shapes for the duck. With materials there was a special attention to detail by using textures as well as coloring the surfaces. I really wanted this to be a one of a kind artisan TP holder. The design idea: that the holder was to be made for a hunter from the heartwood of his favorite fallen tree by a local artist.

Lofting what more can I say than thank you for existing. When the going gets tough the tough get lofting it saved me on many a pink edge and un-cap-able surface. i also learned quite a bit about joining exploding and how to manipulate the surfaces in different layers.
