Javier Prado Week 10: Shoe

For The Shoe I wanted to go with something simple and I decided to make a loafer shoe. This style of shoe is simple yet elegant and can be combined with many colors and textures due to the simplicity of the design.

Javier Prado Week 10: Camera

For This project I based my camera on the very popular Nikon 1. I chose this camera because I've always enjoyed using it. Its a small camera with the power of a DSLR.

Javier Prado Week 8: Tubular Chair

For this project I wanted to go outside the box and instead of doing a conventional chair I decided to go for a wheelchair. I enjoyed the idea of designing a wheelchair that would change the perspective of being in one. I wanted to design a chair that would be comfortable and elegant at the same time.

Javier Prado: Week 6 Cat Eye Ring

For this project I looked for inspiration on nature and one day while at my friends house I was very intrigued by the design of the feline eye. From then on I decided to incorporate somehow that design into my ring. The choice of materials came from my mother who love to wear turquoise rings.

Javier Prado: Week 4 M-Cross Sunglasses

For this product I initially wanted to go with the concept of creating big bulky sunglasses but as I progressed with my design I found inspiration from the motocross goggles that the riders use. The drastic bent on the side of the sunglasses was inspired by the goggles in order to protect the eyes from dust but in this case it is in order to prevent the sunlight or glare to reach the corner of the eye.

Javier Prado: Week 4 Colani Mouse

For this project I wanted to come up with something different, a computer mouse that was unique. After I came back from the lecture given by worldwide known industrial designer, Luigi Colani, I was inspired by his fluid and aerodynamic designs. In honor of him I made a very streamlined mouse for the exception that the scroll wheel comes out both ends of the mouse. The reason behind the positioning of the scroll wheel was the when a person uses a mouse he or she only move their index and middle finger. In order to incorporate the entire hand to the activity of using the mouse I moved the wheel in order to be scrolled by the ring and small finger.

Javier Prado: Week 4 Creed's Hammer

For this project I wanted to break away from the stereotypical concept of the the hammer is gripped. I wanted to make a different way to grab a hammer and I found my inspiration from my favorite video game, Assassin's Creed. The arm brace was inspired by the leather sleeve in which the assassins carry the hidden blade. The emblem of the creed is incorporated into the design in a subtle ways as is usual of the assassin's on the clothing and weapons.
