Sabina Pareja-Lecaros: week 4 - USB

This is The Skeleton! I constructed this volume in Rhino by using an image as template. I placed the image in the top view and constructed my curves on top of it, it was really easy. By following the tutorial, I constructed the main features of the USB and then I altered some shapes to create my own design: a USB and key ring.

Javier Prado: Week 4 Colani Mouse

For this project I wanted to come up with something different, a computer mouse that was unique. After I came back from the lecture given by worldwide known industrial designer, Luigi Colani, I was inspired by his fluid and aerodynamic designs. In honor of him I made a very streamlined mouse for the exception that the scroll wheel comes out both ends of the mouse. The reason behind the positioning of the scroll wheel was the when a person uses a mouse he or she only move their index and middle finger. In order to incorporate the entire hand to the activity of using the mouse I moved the wheel in order to be scrolled by the ring and small finger.

Nick Baker: Assignment 5 Nighthawk Sunglasses

Form Sketch

Ghosted

Folded

Unfolded

Presentation

I designed this pair of sunglasses in a similar style to the popular wayfarer, but I gave it a little more agressive feel with the angular lines. The name comes from the F-117 Nighthawk stealth bomber because of the similar polygonal shape as well as the flat black appearance.

My slim USB is super compact and has a loop to attach to various things so that it won't get lost.

For this assignment I inspired my color palette on the "Tide" detergent bottles and played around with the lighting and camera for a dramatic view.

For this assignment I followed the tutorial to model this USB Connector and then I had some fun by rendering it with a cable that was attached to the mouse I did last week. In key shot I used a rubber texture for the main body of the connector and cable and a chromed finish for the head of the USB.

For this design, I wanted something make a mouse that can be used in an office setting. So I aimed to make it more refined than the standard white, black, or see-through plastic mouses that dominate the market. In reality, it can be styled either way.
