Jeffrey Tindi | Week 10 | Camera

My camera was inspired by the iphone. I wanted to create a hand held camera that could fit in small places. It has zoom lens. Its a basic camera used only to take HD shots. The Guru camera is your camera to take pictures on your own journey.

The main techniques I used were Fillet which I used on a rectangle which I extruded. I then created multiple circles using offset. I extruded those curves then used boolean difference to get my lens. I used curve to create the back screen and the flash slot.

My material choice was hard plastic. I used aluminum mesh for the flash and basic aluminum for the lens. I played a bit with its specular and rotated the world until I got the highlight I wanted for the shot

Ellen Siu & Jeffrey Tindi | Kite | Week 10

Original Video - More videos at TinyPic

Our kite wasn't started with an initial concept. We chose a simple color scheme. We taped the edges with red tape and a bit of silver tape.

To create the kite we used plastic table cloth and used paper cement, duck tape to combine our pieces.

Jeffrey Tindi | Week 6 | Ring

3D prints

My ring design was inspired by London designer Domini Jones' "Otto Ring". My main objective was create a ring that symmetrical with strong visual weight. I was also inspired my Egyptian jewelry.

My entire ring was produced from three initial curves. I created a circle that two curves, first by creating one side then reflecting that curve. I than used "Curve Boolean" to join the two curves. I used "Offset" to great the inner curve. I used "Fillet" to curve the edges than created the lower half of the ring using "Loft". After I sealed off the ring using Patch and Cap. I flipped the ring then "BooleanUnion" ed the two pieces.

My material choice was 24K gold. I felt this would fit its modern aesthetic well and improve its visual weight.  This material would also allow me to play around a bit more with the specular settings.

The inspiration for my flashlight was a spring. I like how it looks like the spring is being pressed down and it is about to pop up.
The tools I used for my flashlight were "curveboolean" and "FilletEges".
The material used for my flashlight was steel. I wanted it to have an even clean look and it goes with my castle model.

Javier Prado Week 10: Shoe

For The Shoe I wanted to go with something simple and I decided to make a loafer shoe. This style of shoe is simple yet elegant and can be combined with many colors and textures due to the simplicity of the design.

Javier Prado Week 8: Tubular Chair

For this project I wanted to go outside the box and instead of doing a conventional chair I decided to go for a wheelchair. I enjoyed the idea of designing a wheelchair that would change the perspective of being in one. I wanted to design a chair that would be comfortable and elegant at the same time.

Javier Prado: Week 6 Cat Eye Ring

For this project I looked for inspiration on nature and one day while at my friends house I was very intrigued by the design of the feline eye. From then on I decided to incorporate somehow that design into my ring. The choice of materials came from my mother who love to wear turquoise rings.
