Marcus Van Gorden--Week 1 Castle

I decided to build a "Nuclear Fortress". It was modeled after a nuclear power plant's cooling tower with a reactor beneath. The Titan II missile make up the columns. Rhino is steady becoming more enjoyable as I pick up on the learning curve.

I built everything to the true scale of the objects that they represent. The Titan II missiles are made as two separate stages with a separate MRV on top. The Rocket's motors were also built to the dimensions of the true rocket's engines. The reactor cooling tower was built to the dimensions of existing towers to give the scale of these structures. I made a large ground level disc to represent the ground and placed a reactor underneath the tower with Uranium fuel rods inside.

I colored it in for fun...

I rendered the missiles in yellow paint to try and emulate the nuclear symbol color. I made the ring the Titan's sit on out of Jade because I wanted to give it a royal feel. I made the tower of stone so that it would look like it was concrete. I made the ground out of transparent glass so the entire structure would be visible. Beneath I made the reactor out of an aluminium grate so that the green fuel rods would be visible through the "reactor".
