Samantha Whitmore: Week 1 Castle
For this Castle project I wanted to build just a classic look. One that looked to be kid friendly. My inspiration for the simple shapes in this came from the Biltmore House. Though it has any geometric shapes throughout, it had a majestic feel to it when you looked at it.
To construct this piece I used basic box shapes and steep sloped roofs. After a lot of frustration of trying to use it like Photoshop I was able to find different ways of how to use the trim and cut tools to subtract bits and pieces that I didn't want included into my Castle.
I didn't want my lighting to be distracting from the Castle as a whole and brightened the contrast of the background. The strip that hovers over top the Castle is made from the keyshot material glass, where as the roofs are made from a mixed metalic color, Leaving the Walls and window frames to be just plain paint.
