Chia Yu Lu: Week 2 Flashlight

When I was designing my flashlight I got inspired by bullet and bomb, because they all look similar in some way. Both bomb and flashlight has a cylinder like shape most of the time and they all creates light at one point.  The hexagon pattern on the holding part of flashlight was made to prevent the flashlight slip out from user’s hand.

This design began with simply drawing lines first. Then I use revolve to create the basic structure of the flashlight jacket. After that I use Boolean different to cut out the shape I want, and uses array polar to make the hexagon pattern.

When rendering my flashlight I already decided want I want. I want it to have a shiny surface that not only the light-bulb is creating the light but also the material that I use for this flashlight could reflect the light from other light source.  So I choose titanium polished for the main body part of the flashlight and Anodized brushed grey for the pattern.
