Ryan Gillam: Week 2 Duck

Straight from a wilderness lodge, the cheese knife with duck handle is designed to add a "rustic" flare to special occasions or everyday dinning.  Consider it the perfect gift for any man who loves food and the outdoors.

For this model I experimented a lot with command points, split, trim, and blend.  The blade was made from a sphere that I manipulated with command points.  Then I used the split and trim tools to shave off the sides, making it sharp.  The blend tool was used to connect the handle to the blade.

Appropriately I used stainless steel on the blade.  For the handle I chose red oak.  It's important to always use a hardwood for the handle of any type of tool.  The red oak had a very rich color that I favored over the others for this particular product.
